WITNESS by JRC

With the filth in his breath
And smoke in his step
Keeling before him
They fall to the floor
It was cold when he talked
People vanished when he walked
Fire chased him
Flames embraced him
Every building brought to ashes
In a moment when he passes
Let him suffocate your words
As your sight begins to blur
The clocks around you fail to move
And the silence numbs your mood
Thickened fog corrupts your feet
Swollen veins engulf with heat
Restless gears entwine and spin
And then you see his ghastly grin
Emanating from the mist

The last thing that you’ll witness
