Concrete, feet on the run.
My rage is confined. 
This cage, silver-lined.
Enigmas of paradise. 
Stigmas of sacrifice.
This binding's what ties. 
These crimes in disguise.
I won't wipe your tears. 
When you feed me lies.
Through all of your fears. 
Remember, time flies.

Smoke in your step and flames in your breath

Lifted up in ashes

Your motive never crashes

Up above the embers

Only you remember

The golden years

The chosen years

So wasted and frozen

There was a day,

A time, a place

A decision,

I’d take back what I said.

The fork’s in the road

A stallion of gold

With wings

It ascended

Into the whirling of the clouds

“you never told me the reason”

You just gave me a cause

And even though it was bleak

You gave me a purpose

And destroyed my fear

Oh, how it conquered me

But now it’s a faded line

It fled itself out of my mind

From a clue. a hint

A silent grin

I took on a challenge

My trophy was peace

Filled with gallons

Piece, by piece, by piece

A caught the catch

And threw it right back

And all of this chaos

Just fell through the cracks
